写作疑惑以及应对之道

写小说可能非常耗费情感。 因为写小说的目的是让读者感同身受，所以在这个过程里，你需要深入探索自己的内心，仔细寻找可以传递感悟和塑造人物性格的经验。所有这些努力地最终目的就是创造一个更加真实的故事。 不过，有人可能通过写其他的体裁，比如科幻小说来逃避真实性，但他们仍然需要与真实世界连接，才能展开他们的幻想世界。 我想这篇博客主要想表达的观点是：如果觉得某章节或短篇故事写得不太好，也不要因此觉得沮丧。 正如我之前所说，在学校学习或者工作一天后，你可能觉得精疲力竭，写作有些力不从心。没关系，第二天再看看写的部分。我保证，要么你可能会发现自己写的没那么差，要么你会有新的想法。 另外，我觉得你不应该总是纠结于文章的某一部分，特别是在刚开始写作的时候。以我自己为例，开始写一部小说的前几个月只是快速地写完前五章，不去想自己的表达是否恰当。 这种方法有一个问题，随着写作能力的进步，回看自己写的不那么好的章节的时候，会觉得难以忍受。 我会不停地修改，还是会觉得糟糕，以至于有时候不得不休息两周才能继续写作。 当然，如果写作能力稳定了一些，就不会发生这种情况。 你没必要为一个版本修订很多次，所以编写完一章就开始故事的下一章节/部分没有问题，甚至值得提倡。我知道很多人这样做，本质上还是看哪种方法对自己奏效。 不要怀疑自己。 虽然我还是会自我怀疑，我知道《万神殿》（Pantheon）可以写的更好。但是作者只有接受他们的作品不可能是完美的这个前提，才能真正写完作品。 了解你的缺点和被这些缺点挫伤完全不同。 对于我来说，在写《万神殿》(Pantheon) 的续集《牺牲》(Sacrifice) 的时候，我仍在自我怀疑。 老实说，我觉得有些害怕。但是我确信的是我的下一部作品肯定比前一部好，这就足够了。 写作愉快！

孩子应当如何进行阅读

许多父母问我，什么书籍可以帮助他们的孩子提高英语水平。 其实就是希望他们的孩子能从最有限的阅读中有最大的收获。 如果你是一个学业繁忙的高中生，为了满足英语课程的需求，优先阅读经典文学作品是可以理解的。但是这篇文章实际上是想与初中及以下孩子的父母讨论一下，孩子应当如何进行阅读的问题。 七年级时，我读过一些意外有趣的书，其中有一本是Origami Yoda。 实话说，以我当时的年纪似乎不该读那么幼稚的书了，但是我并不在乎这个，就算是一本绘本故事书，只要我能乐在其中，我就会去读它。 甚至有时候我会刻意选择一些带有图片的书籍进行阅读，这些插画对我来说就像给自己的阅读奖励一般。 比如我读过的Leviathan Trilogy和The Wondla Trilogy， 正是因为它们里面的精美插图我才会去翻开，不过最后也当然是因为那些出色的写作才使我能够坚持读完。 我所想表达的，其实是说作为父母，我们绝不应当阻止孩子们阅读漫画或者绘本，也绝不该因为书籍有图画就不让孩子去阅读。 其实只有鼓励他们阅读各式各样的书籍，他们才能够更好地理解每本书的独特之处。例如，我写的这本书 —- Pantheon，被认为是类型小说，而不是纯文学小说。这意味着它在娱乐上比在艺术上更有价值。 不过除非这两类书籍您都阅读过，否则是很难把握到这种差异的。而区分这二者才只是一小步，小说的类型远不止此， 科幻小说、犯罪小说、浪漫小说、西方小说、幻想小说、历史小说、励志小说、恐怖小说、非虚构等等，若不均有涉猎，恐怕只会觉得所有书都是一般模样。 假设您的孩子想当作家（或者您就是那个孩子）。 未曾阅读各类书籍怎么能够在读到一本新书时，判断自己是否与之产生了共鸣呢？ 我们之所以写作，是为了表达自己的情感所在。 想阅读经典当然很好， 但是不要因为读过 《杀死一只知更鸟》和《莎士比亚》之类的作品， 就不去尝试其他的书籍。 最后，我衷心希望各位父母能鼓励您的孩子阅读尽可能多类型的书。 如果您的孩子喜欢悬疑、科幻、情感丰富的书， 那么我建议您可以读一读Illuminae Files系列。 孩子们可以在阅读过程中更好的掌握语法，语音以及其他各类相关能力，使他们的学习更加轻松，将知识化为己用。
